Fin clamped?

So I went to the LFS last night to pick up the new baby to be friends with the ocean green last night, and the selection wasnt too bad, but finding a fish without clamped fins was a lil tough. I picked up a very neat looking silver pigeon blood, and he had the least amount of peppering on him, and his one fin was clamped SOMETIMES, but not always while I was there looking at him. He looked pretty round too, but he is very small. Im curious if this fin situation is a problem, or if its just a mood indicator? I will get pics of him today when the lights come on, but any info on how to proceed with him, while quarantined, would be great!
