The others I already have were marked as Medium, same as the alenquers, right? So I need to get 1 for the 6ft, and look at something smaller for the AG baby tank?

DE you can put small fish with big fish they will be ok. i have my two small RGDs with some large fish they are schooling and doing great.

maybe get 3 rgd's and 3 albinos. if the albino's are the same strain i think they are then they should be a pretty good cross with the RGD. Does that help :shock:

Hi Xtreme, it is a very impressive list. Are all the quantity of discus on the list belong to your shop only or they are what available in the quarantine and can be taken by other aquariums? Reason i asked is to check whether it needs to be pre order before they arrive your shop or can wait until they are released to your shop since there are quite a few for each strain. Cheers.

Xtreme aquariums are a regular fishshop with great quality fish. So you go about buying fish the same as usually. You ask them to net and then you pay for your choice.

Am new to keeping discus (have only had my 3 for a week now), and believe they belong in a bigger group, so am looking to buy up to 3 more.

On the pics you provided, that say small, what are you meaning by small ?? The discus I have currently are about 4-5cm.

On the cheaper end, what are the prices of the juvenille fish, that are around the size mentioned. I am still a bit chicken to outlay hundreds of dollars for a fish when I'm only starting with them (though have had many years experience with other tropicals).

Small is about 4-5cm. Medium is roughly 7-10. Large is 10+. Im being very rough though, since i'm just estimating.


With discus, buying bigger is better if you are new at it (like me). It means they are tougher and stronger, and also if you buy from a decent place, their growth hasnt been stunted. As a novice, you could accidentaly stunt the fish, which can make them uglier. That's the angle i'm taking anyway :P

Skitz, IMO if you go to Xtreme, you should get their Checkerboards. They are good size and quality, and they only cost $100! I would have bought a couple but I've already bought 9 discus there and I wont have anymore room if I keep buying discus in my (STILL) coming tank. Great value for money IMO. I prefer them to the checker pigeons, since they dont get peppering. I like them anyway :P
