I was just wondering whether someone could tell me if the males lose interest in the females as my pair have spawned 6 times since their last batch of young and they just seem to go white and get eaten.

must have something to do with your water.
to much osmotic pressure maybe.

What do you mean by osmotic pressure?

to say it in an easy way in discus tanks most times it is salt what
raise the osmotic pressure.they are also a few other things who can cause it.
you can also say hard or soft water.
a discus egg has a specific pressure inside so is the OP in the tank to high it causes little cracks in the skin of the egg what makes it rott(going white)
hats maybe not the perfect explanation but i think it is ok.
you can use reverse osmosis for example to make your water softer but you also need to mix this water with normal tapwater.

you need to sit down with the male and ask him whats wrong. maybe the woman's let herself go or could be he's seeing someone on the side as she's been nagging him to death.
my guess would be that the pair are still a bit ragged from the last batch of fry. check if they are in good health, if there's any indication of parasites or ill health treat them, deworm them etc and then feed them heavily for a couple of weeks. that should solve your problem.

When they had their last batch of fry the male looked like he was doing most of the feeding so maybe he thinks that if they want more kids he needs to be able to go to the pub every now and then and also watch the footy when he wants. Thanks for the help i will try feeding them up a bit they already live in RO water.
