Venting Discus?

Just wondering if you can actually differentiate between the sexes by venting? Had a close look at a Discus that had keeled over, and I would have to say it appeared definitely to have been a female. Unfortunately :wink: I don't have a dead male to compare it to....

Thanks Samir, but what I'm after is whether the females' vents are more Oo and males' oo? The fish I was looking at this morning was definitely Oo

This form of venting's fairly common practice with African cichlids, which are being used as examples; wouldn't Discus be the same?
