female laying eggs but male eating ?

Hey just noticed my first discus laying her eggs on a amazon sword plant she has paired off with another one of my fishes for a while showing all the signs of pairing also.

Ok well today she would lay the eggs and right after she layed the male will eat them does he do this because he afraid of the other fish in the tank?

Also i wanted to leave them in there for a while to get the pair stronger would any of you put them in another tank yet or let them stay?

Most of them grow out of the egg eating habit.

I'd say he's just an immature fish, and needs a bit more time to mature.

Leave them together for at least another few months before transferring them to a breeding tank.
