Is there any reason the new Pro 3e 2076 is more expensive than the old 2080 ?
Is the 2080 a beter unit ?

???

The 2080 is more expensive, at normal price and on special.

The 2080 is twice as big as the new 3e filters and does not come with media. The new 3e filters have loads more features but are only suitable for tanks up to 400L & 700L were the 2080 will easily filter a 1,000L tank

Bear in mind the 3e has only been available less than 1 week whereas the 2080 has been available for well over 1 year.

Also, the fact that the new Pro 3 2180 will be available in the next week or so further pushes the 2080 down the list.

Both 3e models and the 2180 are micoprocessor controlled, and the 3e has a load of new functions such as the pulse feature (to replicate a wave maker) plus things like output control so the pump can increase the flow capacity when the media starts to slow down the flow. The new 2180 has a built in 500w heater so that is one less piece of equipment needed as well.

As time goes by the products will obviously have various price changes, which is normal for any new product. Just ask anyone who purchased a Pro 3 2080 in the 1st few months they were available, they would not have got much change from $1,000, now they are half the price.
