Hi,
Trying to connect the Eheim 2028 filter to the Pentair Aquastep UV steriliser.

Looks fairly simple, but I'm not sure of the width of the 2028 hoses?

The UV is 1/2 inch.

Anyone know before I shut it off & get water everywhere?

TIA,
DiscusEden

Hi DE,

It's a long time since I used my Eheim but from memory I think the hoses are 19ml.

Time to try for the dumb question award again....

That makes the output 3/4 inch? And the input....?

So - any suggestions about how to get these 2 to work together? Other than swearing, I tried that. And staring at it for prolonged periods. That didn't seem to achieve much either.

Thanks again for your help guys!

DE,

If you have a Bunnings near you or any place that has irrigation bits and pieces you should be able to find a 13mm/19mm adaptor. Looks like ILLUSN has stated different hose sizes and he may well be right so it would pay to measure both hoses before you go shopping.

I'd have thought swearing loudly would have done the trick! Oh, and there are no dumb questions, only the one you don't ask.

Thanks MAC, but don't you count on it. I'm sure before I'm through here I'll get to the dumb question.

Yes, there's a Bunnings almost next to work.

You know, I only just realised that the 2 numbers Illusn gave are the internal and external measurements. Did I mention before I don't do DIY?

I think the only way of measuring the hoses is to take them off, so I might just get both parts & hope one fits.

Thanks again for the help guys!

mate, eheim make an adaptor from 16/22 to 19/27 which i believe is the size hosing you want Reducing Piece 19-12mm [4005980]
youll need to find another to take the 25mm hose down to 19, again try bunnings, I don't think anyone makes a 25mm to a 12mm

Aaagh!

No DIY! Bad DIY, bad!

OK, breathing!

I went to Bunnings today and bought 4x 19-13mm adaptors, with the appropriate clamps for each.

I just had a look at the filter, and I swear the input and output hoses look the same. I don't remember any difference when I put it together. But this is going inline with the output hose, both in and out of the UV steriliser.

So.... if I cut the line out of the filter, use a joiner 19-12, attach the 12/16 hose supplied with the UV, into the UV (just measured the hose to be sure). Out of the UV, use 12-19mm (same part backwards) joiner, back to other cut end of Eheim hose, out to spraybar.

Sound right?

If not, I'm willing to pay airfare for someone to come & fix the sdng thing.

mate, spot on cut output hose (12/16) put in joiner (12/19) attach 19mm hose to uv sterilizer. on sterilizer output put 19mm hose then a 19/12mm joiner then back to spray bar. where are you located?
