Damaged Fins

I know this was asked before, but do fins grow Back? I Had some fin rot, or may be some thing else, do some pretty heavy damage to the soft rear fins to two of my discus, they are recovering in a hospital tank now
Last time this was asked, it finished with some really good info on fin trimming, but there was not a solid answer.
I think someone said it would take 6-8 weeks for them to grow back. I was hoping someone could give me a clear answer, one I want to hear :lol:

depends on the fish, usually the younger ones recover faster. I've had half a tail grow back in around 10 days. If you keep them in good conditions and well fed they will recover fast, if the reason why they got sick is still present, it could take forever.

also depends on the depth/severity of damage
if the bones are exposed do not expect full recovery
if just the tissue then should get good repair

One of mine had fin rot and is recovering now and hes coming up nicely now
