black spot

hi guys,

just a query. I have a danio in one of my tanks, which i have had for about three years so his life span may be getting to the end.

anywho it looks like he has a spot of black fuzz growing just before his tailfin. seen white fuzz before - can you get black fuzz

also have a little bit a black algea in the tank - and the spot looks like a little tuffed of that

any ideas -not good with diagnosing stuff

It could be a mould/fungus on him... maybe try using some pimafix or something similar that works on fungus.. but at 3 years I feel he may just be very old and on his way to fishy heaven. (I wonder if fish get age spots like us humans do?)
