Lovely Nathan! Well done!

Are they on CO2? What kind of lighting are you running?

yea there the rotala mac has got to be my fave plant.

yea there on co2, an the lighting is 36' aqualiner pc 2x96w globes.

i also add iron, it helps HEAPS with the red plants, i find if i dont dose it the plants arent that vibrant red more of a washed out green.

thanx for the comment discuseden.

i see that now, just looked different to the top pic...
keeping nitrates low also brings the colour out in this plant...

I have heard, word of mouth, that the redness of these plants is highly based on their iron content. So you must be doing something right by adding iron since these plants look very healthy and red.

Heres a pic of one of mine.
I also have the same plants as Nathan and another even redder lotus.
The one pictured is a dwarf, the leaves are about the size of a 50c piece (Australian coin) and it hugs the substrate.
Im thinking of selling some of it off when I redo the tank in a few weeks time.

Hi Noddy,
It's beautiful!

Don't suppose you'd be willing to post some of that would you?

What kind of lights do you have to have for that. Just regular aquarium lights work?

Not that difficult.
I have 320 watts of T5 lights. The plant is at the front so doesnt get the full benefit of all that light.
Substrate is standard aquarium gravel.
CO2 injected tank.
Ferts twice a week.
