Ok I thought I would post some pics of "Miranda" , who has settled in very nicely with her new tankmates....

I tried to get shots that show off how she seems to look like shot silk..lol
and that are as true to the colour as I can get... also some of my other discus.

 She's beautiful Sammi!

Your others are lovely too of course, we don't want them getting jealous!

I love Miranda's fins especially, the contrast with her body & face is just lovely!

How big is she now?

Thanks DiscusEden and Scott bowler,

Miranda is 16cm (by far the biggest in my tank) with my pigeonblood coming in second at about 14cm (that is including tails)

I find her very interesting, she is almost like a brown without the striations... She has taken over the tank and actually split my PB from Ladyred.. (Yes, she likes girls!! ;-) ) She won't let him near LR which is a bit unfortunate for him... he is not very happy about that. lol

thanks for the kind comments guys.

Yes, he is a little spunkrunt!! LOL He is growing albeit very slowly and is now showing some colour which he didnt have for a very long time... he is nice and fat just not growing... I have treated with metro a while back and dosed the tank with levamisole... but think he is just destined to be little...
I think I also got him on a particularly bad angle.. ha ha ha

Actually a solid blue snakeskin.... lol

He hardly ever shows his/her bars but there is 13 of them...

I'm sure he will have to grow eventually and it will be very interesting to see how he turns out! He doesnt seem at all unhealthy, eats like a piggy, doesnt get picked on, is happy to do his own thing...lol

Maybe, but with Miranda in the tank, bluey's always going to have low self esteem. I'm willing to help protect poor bluey by taking Miranda off your hands any time you feel the need to help poor bluey.

(I've given it my best shot, now sit back & wait to see if you bite....
Don't like my chances though....)

Hmm, well, that was worth a try. She really is beautiful Sammi. And who knows, she may give bluey something to aspire to. :D

The fairy godmother of the tank, or is that mixing fairytales?

LOL DiscusEden, Some of us have to go through life being the "not quite so gorgeous" one.. I suppose that is Blueys lot...

I'm sure Miranda much prefers to live in Melbourne. ;-) with me. She told me so..... lol

She may want a holiday? 5 years or so ought to make her appreciate you more. I used to live in Melbourne too. I could help her with the transition. It's easier on them when they're young.

I've really got to stop pushing this don't I?

I'm getting my own soon. That'll help a little with me coveting yours. But she's so pretty it'll only be a little.

Bluey might have a wonderful personality. Great sense of humour, possibly even hidden talents. Might grow up to be the most popular discus in the tank. And all the other discuscan hang out with bluey to make themselves look better.

Hey Nick, I have only really added Miranda, I had my other ones already. I do love them though. but it doesnt mean I love my other fishies less. :-)

It sounds like you have defected into the umbie camp! lol although I have to say they are a beautiful fish.
