Amazing fish fredg18 :P

Does that strain have a name?

They're far too nice to be just called "pigeons".

They should have a name like Firecracker Red or something.

Stunning colours on them.

Those fish are absolutely beautiful, good shape and colour, they have to be one of the best pigeon types I have seen in a long time.

Hi all,
The name of these fish are Bonsai Red and they are an import from Malaysia which my friend got from a wholesaler here in melbourne.

Mcloughlin2,
Yes they are colour fed, you tell me these days what red based pigeon is not colour fed to keep the colour in the fish.

Hi Mark,
I thought that colour feeding discus was not too bad a thing - as long it is based on natural colour enhancers, it won't harm the fish or cause any long term damage. My understanding is that it is giving the fish hormones to grow bigger and enhance colour that is the big 'no no' - is that right?
Cheers

Hi Elvip,
From my understanding, hormones do enormous damage to the internal organs of a fish and will kill a fish within time, but natural colour enhancers are okay if used in moderation.

You Have such a lovely fish, may i ask u a bit?
It seems that your fish are Marlboro and not Pigeon, probably because the using of astaxanthine or caropyhl pink has improved their red colour, is it true? Usually south-east asia discus breeders were using it.
