I"ve been posting in Emergency room re sick discus - see
http://www.discusforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10589 Is this velvet? (pics attached) I now have two discus in the hospital tank, and as posted am treating with tetracycline for 10 days.

If this doesn't work, I want to try tri sulphur.

My quandry is how to change over meds. Hospital tank has 40 litres in it.
Do I do a 25% WC & then add tri suplur?

Any reco's appreciated. I hope the tetracycline works & I don't have to take this step. Perhaps I need to continue it (tetracycline) for longer? anyone had experience with it???

I am treating for columnaris. (I hope it"s not Plague!)

I found an informative site on diseases:
http://www.nationalfishpharm.com/diseases.html

If you go to the "advanced fish disease section" & click on the area of concern it has helpful flow charts.

Get ur magnifying glass ready.

Quick update - my 3 sick discus are now just fine. After 10 days treating with tetracycline in a hospital tank, they have regained their normal colour, behaviour and appetite.

All 3 are now happily back in the main tank.

Happy New Year!
