filter media

am using foam, ceramic noodles and those funny shaped plastic balls as my filter media. should i also use some fine wool type media. tank always has very fine suspended matter. my filter intake is located behind a rock mound does anyone think that the location of intake would effect filter peformance?

yep, some fine wool type media will catch the fine particles. I used to have the same problem until I added some of that. I added two layers in fact. Everything is clear in few days after that. You do need to change/clean them from time to time.

hey g.c.discus how did you go with the diatom did you change your mind .what filter did you end up going with just intreasted. hope it all is goin well for you
