What do I do with the media?
Presume, it will all be toxic now?
Thanks

Keep it. You'll eventually lose all the bacteria without oxyen passing through the canister but it doesn't destroy the media.
If you're worried about it becoming toxic, empty the canister and give the media a clean and dry it out. When you eventually replace your pump, give the media a wash in the old water from a water change and set it up again.
You'll have to allow it to go through the cycling process again though. |

Thanks for that, Thats what ill do
On a lighter note while we were away two discus in community tank spawned, and we now have free swimming fry on parents. I know chance of survival even with divider in place is non existant, still fun to watch though |

Great news Karen!
Don't be so sure about their chances though. My first 2 pairs of Red Turqs did wonderfully well in a 4ft tank with a divider. 1 pr each side and they produced many successful spawns.
All the best. |
