Automatic Fish Feeder
I am looking are getting an automatic fish feeder for my discus while I am at work. It must be for tetra bits. I currently have an automatic feeder but it is for flakes. I would like to control the amount of bits per serving. With the flake auto feeder, the standard deviation of food amounts is large. Does anyone know where I can get a product like the one below, or do you have better recommenadations?
Thanks

I've got an eheim auto feeder, It is adjustable so that you can control the amout of food that comes out. I've used it with pellets and it works well.

Thanks for the response. I had a look at the eheim but I am looking for more flexability. I would like to mix diffrent foods in a feeding, like an algae tablet with flake foods and tetra bits. I have seen a product called fishmate. I will hunt it down.

I have never seen that one locally.
With the eheim, you can use pellets, flakes, crushed tabs, etc

Thanks I will keep looking. Even if I have to import it from the US.
I love the idea of packing little meals:
7:00am - Hand fed frozen shrimp
9:00am- Clown Loaches get pellets
10:00am - Discus get sera tetra bits
11:00am- neons and others get flake food
12:00pm - Discus get JBL bits
2:00pm - Clown Loaches get Proforma
3:30pm - Discus and neons get food
ect....
6:00pm hand fed frozen blood worms
Call me crazy, I think it is great.

I would strongly advise against that feeding pattern...
You will eventually kill all the fish from over feeding and over polluting the water. You cant gaurantee each fish group will get the prescribed food... From what I know about keeping fish you will find that the Clowns will probably gobble up most of it, causing health problems.. (they dont know when to stop eating)
1, 2 or 3 feeds a day maximum is all that is required.
So the Eheim is perfect fro what you need.
I would also advise against buying much stuff from overseas, as if you have a problem with it, warantee repairs or replacement is very difficult, and postage is expensive...

i agree with proteus, i like the idea behind it, but i think the health problems will be too large. i think you are on the right track with trying ot feed a wide variety of food, but i think reducing the amount and frequency is a step in the right direction.
let us know what brand you get and the resluts you see.
