wow NIce Big male you have there!!! what a forehead!!

ooh id highly suggest you dont go down the line of breeding him

    1. He will become and stays very very aggressive.
    2. You end up with truck loads of babys you cant sell as nobody wants them

stunning fish well done, strat feeding him some red enhancers!

Unless you sell them as feeder fish!

A lot of hobbist have tank bustin carnivore type fish and locating good healthy cheap feeder fish is hard.

    didnt relise there were replies...
thanks for the kind words guys... i saw him at the LFS and had to have him, he's a beauty i know.

i don't have a female, might look for one later on or sell this guy (at the right price) as i might need tank space.

the forehead seems to increase / decrease in size depending on he's mood. Atm he's head looks much bigger than the pics though.

he eats pellets so natural colour enhancer food is what he's getting, none of that white crane stuff.

he's already aggressive chasing my other fish around and bites onto stuff when i change the water.

    cheers boyz

what other fish share a tank with him?

I had my own red devil to his own tank.

Great fish though like puppy dogs!!! you tap his tail and he chases you around in circles hehe good old days!

    Nick,

its in with my mutant red parrots and a few G. brazilensis quite aggressive sometimes but no casualties.

they do have great personality and are underated sometimes.

    got a better idea

Got a much better idea for him - I catch them a lot up here in Townsville on a line, and I must say they are delicious. Breed him up because I'm geting hungry just thinking about it. Caught a beauti of a female last year, and sold her at the LFS for $30. Very deep orange colour all over.
Have a quick search on my posts because I'm sure I put a photo of her on this site

Wild discus only please. Or bring back the old strains from the 80's.
