    My goodness Ben,

I reckon you should be a chef! But let me just break down each ingredient to see if I can work out the purpose of adding it...

    BH - for protein/growth
    Beef Liver - protein/growth
    Scallops - protein/colour enhancement
    Prawn Meat - protein/colour enhancement
    Lecithin - nervous system
    Wheat Germ - fibre
    Calcium lactate - bones/growth
    Spirulina - for colour
    Spinach - for fibre

    Am I right ?

    Has anyone tried:
    Metamucil (for fibre/removing blockages)
Adding BS or BW to their mix (protein)
    Adding multivitamin (for health)
    Garlic (for immunity)
Colour Bits (eh I dunno why lol)

Personally - Im going to try combining elements of Ben's and Ladyred's mix to see if I can get some awesome results!

    Thanks G,

I reckon you should be a chef!
Funny enough i do work as a chef! lol

I am very happy with this recipe and it works extremely well for me!
next time i makle a batch i would like to include pea's into the mix, like ladyreds recipe.

    Metamucil (for fibre/removing blockages)
Ground psyllium husks would be better as metamucil might have other non fish friendly additives. Not sure about using psyllium husks though…?

Adding BS or BW to their mix (protein)
better to feed these is seperate feeds. would need to be defrosted then fozen again which is not a good idea.

    Adding multivitamin (for health)
There is no problem adding small amount of multi vitamins.
Pentavite used for childred would be the best. I tried to add everything in my recipe that would cover all the essentials.

    Garlic (for immunity)
I have tried in the past adding garlic. i never found or saw any benifiets, but thats just my opinion.

Colour Bits (eh I dunno why lol)
by adding colour bits it will bulk out the mix and give a little bit more as well as adding some natural colour enhancers.

    cheers
    Ben

    Nice mix Ben,

    nice and cheap too!

i also add blanched carrots for vitamin C and carotin (spelling)

    capsicum for carotin (again LOL)

heaps of garlic 6-8 cloves to make it taste yummmmmmmmmmmy

    one women's multi vitamin

but you can see that both bens and my mix produce laying pairs, so the best mix to make is the mix that serves your fish best

My vet told me never to feed garlic to my dogs, something about damaging their blood, would this have an effect of fish? what benefit does it give to the fish?

    Cheers

I want to have a go at making your recipe. Just want to know whether you have altered the ingredients at all since this was initially posted?

    Cheers

3 months is the freezer life of seafood but if you have a non frost free freezer it should last 6 months
