Tank size, specifically height question
I'm in the process of converting my 300 gallon reef into apaladrium for dart frogs. I thought it would be cool to have a pond section for fish and that evolved into seeing if it would be possible to make it so I can have a discus pair or 3.
So far I'm thinking that the pond section will be 2 feet by 2 feet. But I'm not sure how high to make it for discus. The local fish store said 10 inches, but another store in a different city said nothing less than 2 feet tall.
Anyone have a height standard? Is 2 feet in each other direction enough foot print?
I also saw that 80 degrees is the lowest temp for them, is that correct?
Thanks.

2x2x2 will work for a bonded pair. 45cm high is sufficient. You definitely can't have 3 discus in there or they will pick on one. 80.6 is the lowest you would go. 82-83 would be better
