    welcome rocky

just a note - unlike with cichlids, where hybrids generally aren't considered "quality", many of the most sought after discus strains, such as penang eruptions, are a results of the cross breeding of different "strains" - this is not "undesirable" in any way, so "pure" discus isn't really a term that is used. just be careful if you like red discus, any with pigeonblood gene will generally show a little peppering (i dont keep reds besides red turqs so if i am wrong, fellow forum members, please correct me )

just always ask to view parents if possible, or at the very least, what strains the parents were.

another path to take is to buy "stendker" discus from germany, which come with certificates, but these do come at a high price, especially when there is some pretty incredible stock coming from other parts of the world

    good luck!
