Keep 2 eheim 2215's separate or piggyback to reduce NO3?
Hi All,
Dismantled a small tank I had recently, which had an eheim 2215.
I have since setup the filter on my main (350L, around 280L of water) display tank.
The planted display tank currently has an aqua one canister (1200lph, 7.5l of media space), and another eheim 2215 (620lph, 4.8l of media space).
What are peoples opinions regarding whether to keep the 2 eheims operating separately, or to piggyback one onto the other, and only run one of the pumps. Would this be more beneficial for the tank? (something along the lines of reduce oxygen in the 2nd filter, aiding NO3 breakdown) or should I just keep them running completely separate?
(also no discus in as of yet, but aiming for 5-7 sub adults, or perhaps a pair, as well as schooling fish and cory's)
Thanks everyone.
