    Breeding tank

    Hi all,

I currently have a large fish tank which is separated by glass dividers (each one has a grill kind of thing at the bottom for water to flow between them but not fish) into sections which are 40cm wide, 35cm deep and 52cm high.

Quite simply, presuming I get the temperature and various levels (ph etc) correct, should I be able to breed discus in these "sections" of my tank?

    Cheers,
    Sam

You can, although ocassionally you can have issues with pairs trying to defend their territory once they pair/spawn even with the divider.
As a result you end up with fish trying to get at each other through the divider and paying less attention to their fry than they otherwise would.
This isn't always the case though. It depends on the particular fish, so definately worth a try.
Just ensure the mesh is fine enough to prevent fry from crossing through.

Bit small, 2 x 2 is the min recommended size. 600 x 600 for metric sizes btw.
