home made filter
hey all ive made these filter for a while and are very affective, they are a large plastic container full of media which sits on top of the tank, the pump is in the tank pumping water to the filter then the water comes out of the front of the plastic box through an outlet and back into tank, very simple but it works.
the thing im a little worried about is the flow of water back into the tank,as its falling from the box to the water level and thats about 8cm and is quite vigorous, will this be a problem for the fish or will it be ok.
cheers marty

Hi Marty,
I don't know what your flow rate is or just how much turbulence ther is. If worried you could probably use some rigid and flexible tubing from your outlet and set it up the same as you would for a spray bar at or just below the surface.
Regards,
Bob
