what color background for my new discus tank??

hi everyone.. been a long time since ive been on this forum.. good to see its still alive and kicking..

also been away from fish long time.. but now got the fish bug biting..
i've got a nice 3ftx18x2ft tank.. atm its all clear.. want to keep some nice discus in there... but not sure what colors to paint the tank and its background...
does you all think i should paint back and bottom or just back
im planning to go bare bottom to make water changes easier...
its not gonna be a breeding tank its just maybe 6 nice display discus..
thanks in advance for your suggestions

Hey Dat, great to 'see' you again. I'm liking royal blue for a background colour, and I'd paint the floor too. I'm a bit over greens and black for backgrounds.

I've thought about gluing slate tiles to the inside bottom of my new display tank, but it has rounded corners on the front glass, so might be a bit of a job getting the shape right.
Thirty-five years keeping and breeding discus, and I'm still learning :P

I'm planning to put a black vinyl background on my discus tank. It seems useful for hiding filter hoses and gives a bit of depth to the tank.
