    Altifrons Tocantins

Hi I have a pair of Tocantins which are both holding eggs in their mouth (there are no other fish in the tank ) .Would you put any food in the tank whist they both are holding or is it a waste of time .Regards

i'd offer food only when they spit the fry.

if you had a 4L ice cream sized frysaver you could try stripping them, that way they wont loose form and you could get another spawn in a week or 2.

is this some good news you want to share with me?

generally i start giving Food once the parents start releasing their fry, this way both one of the parents and the fry can eat during this time..

But then again i usually dont even bother when my tapas breed lol..

    Dips on some fry :P

Yes Jothy , put the 5 together with the 3 I already had into a standard 5 footer and within 2 weeks a large male had taken a third of the tank .I noticed he only let one other fish in the area , so I wisked them off to their own tank and they laid about a week later . As for stripping I will let them have a crack at the natural way this time and see how it goes . Thanks again
