I've kept Discus before, but I had a larger tank to work with. Right now all I have is a 36" X18" X18" 50g tank. Can discus be kept in this size of tank at all? I keep getting mixed opinions.

You can put 5 adult discus in the tank .Generally most people go by 1 discus per 10 gallons/40ltrs .

It depends on more than just the volume of the tank.
Filtration? Stock? Decor and substrate? Etc.
Personally I would only stick a pair in that size tank with a few other small fish.I don't get drunk I get AWESOME!!!
