covering the eggs so they will not be eaten.......

some of my pairs are little buggers and keep eating their eggs, what is the best thing to cover the eggs until they hatch??
I am a bit concerned about wire mesh as it might contaminate the water with metals or should i not be concerned?

what tips do breeders have when covering the eggs?
    cheers,
    Ben

i should have looked at the website before puting up the above post. But,
Is there any other ideas other than glass, as my glass cutting abilities might not be the best!

    cheers,

go to bunnings and have a look at nylex's range of gutter guard material...only problem with it is it will float, so you would need to weight it down somehow.
