just curious.. as I have said before I am new to discus keeping.. Why is it that sometimes the lines/bars on a few of my discus's fade and then get darker at different times.. Do they come and go with stress or as their mood change?

They are commonly known as stress or agro bars...
when they are stressed, or maybe feeling a little defensive, say against another fish, they will show there bars as a mark of dominance...
