canister filter required flow for 200L tank

Hi everyone, I am setting up a 200L tank for discus.

I am looking at Aqua one CF1200 which gives 1200L/hr max flow and 750L/hr flow when operating at 1.0m head

I am also looking at Atman CF1200 which gives 1500L/hr max flow.

Has anyone used the above 2 filter before?

What is the recommended filtration flow for a 200L tank?

    Many thanks!

A general rule of thumb would be to have at least a 3x turnover in your tank per hour. The AquaOne CF1200 would be fine. You will have to make sure that you disapate th e flow/current within the tank as discus do not like fast moving water.

Also, make sure you mature your tank for minimum of 5-6 weeks with a fishless cycle.....no excuses, be patient. Get it right first time. Just ask us questions here before you do anything rash.
