Peat

Hi All

Could someone tell me the benifits of running peat in/ through my set up
I have read that it can bring on spawning
if this is the case where do you get non harmful peat(no chemicals)
how is the best way to extract the goodness
Also Almond Leaves pros? where from
I live in the Newcastle area if there are locals that may known retailers for the above mentioned

Peat will lower your ph and leach tea coloured tannins into your water. Obviously acidic water fish will like it to vaying degrees. As far as inducing spawning....well if it brings the ph in to the spawning range of the fish, then yeah why not?

I used to use the peat granules from Sera with some success. Grab some old stockings and fill em with peat and put in your water change barrel or in your filter and your laughing.

I've dealt with Crossroads and Krempins around your way and they should help you out.
