Reverse Osmosis
hi all ,
thinking about buying a Reverse Osmosis unit , now what i would like to know is can i use the waste water from the unit , to mix with my store water for the fish i am not breeding.
why i ask is i have to much water for the garden now dont need any more
this is the system i am thinking about buying

What makes you think you need RO, what is your tap water conductivity/TDS?

hi hollowman,
my tds is 300 and there egg go white but ,
when i mix rain water with tap water i can get it around 80 and bingo with the same pairs. but cant get rain water all the time , and thats why i thought ro and have on hand all the time.

R/O is fine just as long as you use it correctly. Remember to use trace elements to put back the mineral thats the r/o took out. My friend do 50%R/O and 50% tapwater that seems to be oky with his discus.

ok Andy
Just so that you don't go buying a unit right away, do you, when you see the fish start to spawn, turn off your sponge filters or externals? Sometimes internal currents will wash away the male's milt, happens a lot really. Might be worth considering.
