Hi,I have just set up a new tank.It is a 5x2x2.I have got 8 discus in it at the moment.
I have got a blue diamond, that has paired up with a red coat.
On Saturday night I noticed them at the breeding cone, and there she was laying her eggs.Tuesday morning they hatched.it has been amazing to watch.I didn't think any thing would of happened so quick.Any information out there about them being two different colors, will there young be on or the other
thanks

Welcome to the forum.
Tell us more of you experience with discus, and setup.
I think it will be good to see how these fish look after the fry, but in a community it is rare for fish to raise them as there are too many fish looking for a tasty snack.
A BD and red coat??? not heard of a red coat before, but i will think maybe a Marlboro of some kind, imo is not a good combo. The fry will be very heavily peppered, which makes they undesirable. But good fun to watch for now.
I am an advocate of breeding true lines, because of the rubbish fish that are sold and keeping a better standard of fish for everyone, but enjoy watching the fry for now.

my fish
I get my fish from Sydney, and he gets them imported from malaysia.
My blue diamond male had two after him,the Red coat and a metalic blue,I was hoping he would of paired with the matalic blue.
I have sectioned the tank off so they are on there own with the fry.
I was going to see how the young turn out,if no good,I was thinking of maybe putting the two blue in a tank together.
learning,I got so many people telling me different things. It is easy to get it wrong.
glad I find this forum

Photos will help Dap.
For me as I said it will be a bad combination, try to breed similar strains for best results. These will be badly peppered. But as I said, enjoy and learn from them, but do not try to sell them, there are too many poor fish going round already
