Betta/Fighting Fish in the Community Tank

Thinking of getting a betta to put in my community tank that currently holds angels, dwarf gouramis and a few tetras. Just wondering whether this will work out? Will the betta and angels fight? I have heard of mixed opinions about this, so just wondering whether any of you have had any experiences on this.

    Thanks

dwarf gouramis might be a problem, your angels will also most likely tear the fins of your betta to shreds

You can get some beautiful females these days and short finned males but as said the poor old long fin betta coudn't out swim those angels or tetras

I've had a male betta in my discus community tank. Discus ignorned him. I think the secret to success is not having any fin nippers & also not to have any other fish with long flowing tails or fins. So gouramis & angels would not be good tank mates for a male betta.

So a male long-finned fighter wont be suitable (seeing as I have 6 angels). What about Paradise Fish...I know they can get quite agro.
