    Am I looking at Hex?

I noticed this on one of my fish tonight....... what should I do?

    Water is at 28 degrees
    Ph 6.8

All other fish look fine. This fish is eating as normal, no sign of colour loss & has been fighting alot as there is a couple of pairs in the tank who are very terrtorial at the moment.

    Any help appreciated.

I'm afraid so Scotty. Those pitt marks above the eye are unmistakable.

Good thing is, you've got it at an early stage, so treatment should be very successful.

Have a look at this thread -

If you cannot get hold of Metro, you can try a product called Esha Hex. Works a treat.

Here is a link to Esha, I think you should be able to get it there in Aus

hi mate definatly hex i would suggest you ring a vet send him the pics he will probably email you a script for flagyl which you go to a chemist to fill and flagyl is metro quick and easy way to get it make sure your script covers the follow up treatment 5-7 days later

Thanks everyone, especcially Merrilyn, the thread you created is brilliant!!

I actually took my laptop with that thread on it to the vet and their notes checked out exactly to this.

Here are the tablets the vet gave me. Cost about $20 for 10 and I can get them for 6 months without a consult to treat reucurrances.

Will have to set up the hospital tank now and will let everone know how I go,

    Thanks again,

    Scott
