Tannin in my tank
hey guys,
i have a new tank det up with drift wood in it. there is tannin leaching out of the wood as i expected, the problem is that is is more than i expected.
what is the best way people have of getting rid of it?
home made ideas more than welcome..

Hi Mate,
Are fish in the tank and are you doing water changes? If you aren't then water changes will keep the tannin down.
Otherwise grab yourself some Seachem Purigen. http://www.petsuppliesaustralia.com....50ml-p520.html

I've heard that putting it in a tub of hot water speeds up the leeching process. I haven't tried it my self though.

use purigen - should clean ur tank up within 24 hours

Leave it in and enjoy, discus LOVE blackwater, and the hueric acids of the tannins have excellent antimicrobial properties.
