    thx guys
not sure if there heckle cross, but i dont think so ?
the pic was taken just after i put it in the tank so was a bit stressed and probably a bit dark from that too.
will post some more pics when i clean the glass and it's settled in a bit more
Cliff have 2 heckles and a heckle cross...
got it from a lfs Samir i'm pretty sure it's from Bayfish though.

sorted the reactor out now Erk, was cause i was using cheap poxie reactors b4, now getting 100% diffusion so just have to get the ferts balance right again. probably take another cpl of weeks or so to sort out...

Just to clarify when I say heckel cross I meant a natural cross (in the wild) and not a cross with a domestic.

I remember reading that true heckels have more body striations. The 5th bar is also suppose to run further up the body and into the dorsal fin.

Crosses sometimes also have different face markings.

Yours might be a blue face heckel x, just my opinion though.

they only got in the two that a brought Samir. at the moment they dont really specialise in discus.
but i'm loving that bottom one, what a stunning fish.
    are they ur's ???
getting a bigger tank soon so will be able to fit 2 or 3 more discus so i'm thinking more heckles and would love one like the bottom one.

having problems getting mine to eat properly at the moment, all they seem to want to eat is live black worms
which i hate feeding. i have started putting bloodworms in the cone with the blackworms hoping they will get a taste for them then faze out the black worms.
also feeding the usual live shrimp once a week but they dont seem interested in them either
    any ideas ?

I got mine eating beef heart but it took about 2 weeks ,i feed them live shrimp ,live mozzie wrigglers to keep up some body size. Each day i put in some frozen shrimp till they got use to picking at it then slowly added beef heart till they started to pick at that now they eat anything hope thats of some use.

nah unfortunitly they dont like my beefheart mix Erk
but as soon as i put the live black worms in they hammer it down, but live black worm are a good way to introduce disease

thx for the suggestions Cliff, thats pretty much what i'm doing now, except the mozzie wrigglers so i'll keep at it and hopefully they eat other stuff soon then cause i stopped feeding blackworms a long time ago cause they were also living in the substrate...
    cheers
    Rob...
here's an updated pic of the new one and both together.
