Elsewhere I'd found an option of soaking in a high salt solution.
It is more about getting the cone clean(er) than it is. I'm pretty sure...

Thanks for all the responses. I went back to the LFS that had the Angels with missing fins and finally got to talk to someone after waiting ages.
They said they could get some more stock in that...
