Supposedly Cardinals breed along the same lines as Neon tetras but a larger breeding tank should be used, up to 500 eggs can be layed. They need very soft water with a pH between 5.0 and 6.0 and a...

Sounds good, glad to hear that the spots are clearing up. Just out of curiosity, did you test for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

No problem.
Yeah, I'm not sure if it is black spot either. I would love to know what it is when you do find out.
Thanks,

Are you sure that this is Black Ich? Ichyophaga is a parasitic marine flatworm that infects the skin and gills of marine fish. This isn't really the same as freshwater ich and the treatment is...

SF Bay makes frozen bbs. I've used this with good success with my angel and African cichlid fry, have yet to try it with the discus.

I tried to take a couple of pictures of the wigglers but they didn't turn out too well, very blurry.
I'm back to square one with them, the wigglers are gone, there is no sign of them anywhere. :(...

Thank you!
Wayne, thank you for the advice. So far, there isn't much free swimming going on. The eggs sacs are gone but they are still pretty much against the glass. The parents won't let them...

Oops...sorry about that, my discus have spawned. Just a quick update. The wigglers have used up their egg sacs. How long is it before they start to feed off of their parents?
Thanks,

I didn't notice this until this until a couple of days ago but I have wigglers on the glass in a corner. The parents are doing a fine job of looking after them. From my count there about 20 or so...

Discus are pigs, they will eat just about anything that you put into the tank...just like angels. :P

Omega One makes some high quality foods. They are a little bit more than your average, run of the mill fish foods but are definately worth the cost IMO, even the discus like the flakes. :D

Nah, it's not that bad. My tanks usually take me 2-2.5 hours to clean depending on whether or not I have to trim and replant.
Took me 4 hours to do the maintenance on 14 tanks.;)

I'm a big, big fan of the Omega One products. The African Cichlid flakes, Tropical Flakes, Super Veggie Flakes and the Color Flakes by Omega One are pretty much the only brand of flake foods that I...

You need to keep adding ammonia until you have a very noticeable buildup of nitrate, around 10-15ppm or so. The bacteria that turns ammonia into nitrite is very slow growing and it take take 4-5...
