Hey Danny, what's your water change routine? It does look like this discus is doing really poorly. What percent of the water are you changing each week?

You could probably keep 8 discus in that if you've changing enough water each week, and it's well filtered like Hollowman said.

Hi Mel, that does look like an unhappy fish :(
Have you looked at photos of discus with "white spot"? Does that look similar?
This isn't want you were asking about, but what's your water change...

As long as it's stable (as you say it is), discus can handle that kind of pH. You'll need to acclimatise them carefully, and gradually get them used to the pH (which will probably be higher than the...

As far as I'm aware you should be fine. Quarantine them first (of course). Maybe you could add three to share around any aggression a little more? Four would end up being too many for that tank size...

Hey Candymancan,
so is it the stand that isn't straight or is it the tank? If it's the tank, it'll probably crack no matter what you do right? Although it hasn't yet...
If it's the stand, could...

Hey Paul, it's quite possible that your water parameters are suitable right out of the tap (once dechlorinated). Discus love stable water even more than theoretically perfect parameters. Unless your...

I've just started a planted tank with CO2. If you're running a sump you'll need a way of sealing it off so that you don't lose all of your CO2. Simply having lids on your sumps and putting some...

There's some good healthy live rock and sand that'd be good for a new tank, along with...

Here's an updated price list. The stuff highlighted yellow is still available. As people pick stuff up they'll probably also take a handful of the free stuff.
Basically, all of the livestock has...

I'm shutting down my tank to move back to a freshwater system, so I'm selling all of the marine-specific stuff.
If you include the free stuff I've got about $2,500 worth of livestock and equipment...

How long has the tank been set up for? I ask as you're concerned about the good bacteria, which would only be an issue in an uncycled tank. I'd definitely be doing regular water changes.

A filter you find easy to clean will get more regular maintenance. That can be a benefit of trickle filters and sponge filters. Sponge filters are ugly as though.

Bacteria will still grow at a pH of 6. This is a very common pH to keep discus in.
What's your water-change routine? What % per day?
