Ive got a male...had him for a few years
Hes VERY good talker and is pretty noisy so if you live in a small house or close to neighbours get ready for some complaints

Thats true Rod but I thought they needed an intermediate host to become infective again ( a water flea I think)...that almost certainly isnt in our tanks

Rod is coreect...it does NOT kill the worms outright, it paralises them and theyre pased through with feaces.
In terrestrial animals thats the end of the story as they cant survive being on the...

Quinine is used to treat Cryptocaryon irritans, a white spot infection of marine fish....its a different genus to the white spot we see in fresh water fish so MAY not work...

Being apistos you MUST consider that TB is the cause. Ive found that fish sourced through LFS will often be carriers (I dont get any fish from my LFS for this very reason, only locally bred...

Dont get too stressed about the move..its pretty straight forward (I moved from Perth to Sydney, then moved house again in Sydney)
A 5 x 2 x 2 tank isnt really that heavy.....it can be moved...

Im with Hassles on this one...I try not to touch fish bred in asian fish farms.. USUALLY very poor quality and they seem to have problems with TB...so its just good sensible practice to find out...
