Been using this mix for around 25 years ;)
best not to use Gelatin, fish have a hard time digesting it, a great alternative is Agar Agar, you can get it at most health food shops :)

We have 8 Discus in our 550ltr, with a massive Sump, so as stated above, depending on filtration load etc, I personally think its alittle tight
