When i have spoken to mark evendon who is one of the largest importers of stenker discus into england he has told me on two ocastions that they are in ro only but i have never been there my self...

Always found adding fish makes a large change or if not small move round eg breeding cone or rocks .

Hi My discus are all from germany, When i first started keeping just in display tanks only i was keeping them in hma and so did not affect the ph from the tap which was 7.4 ph and 420ppm.

Are tap water is all over the place as well, Most is clorine and from the tap it is about 430ppm and ph is 7.4, it is also hard.
So every thing has to be filtered so it is quite comon here to use...

Have you checked your tds reading and what is your kh levels,
If one has spiked it could cause them to strugle.
Can you get hold of any wormer plus as it mite be worth running a treatment.

Hi my tds is run at 200ppm in my breeding cubes and in my main grow on tanks i run it at 300-320ppm as the fish growing on seem to do better in a slitly higher ppm,
Discus can go up to 400ppm but...

Hi everybody, just managed to shoe hore another breeding cube and 5 more fry tanks into my shed.
Shed is 12ft x 5ft 5" and did have 408 gallons
and now stands at 457gallon

I am quite lucky as i have a pair of red alenquers and they will orphan any fry at any age even if they dont have eggs/fry,
i just feed them in with a turkey baster and the alenquers swim staight...

Certain plastics are made of fenolic resins and they are toxic but the smell is very stong when the plastic has not been cured of enuff.
In the case of small boxes i just put them in the dish...

Hi thats how i run all my 5s-6s and 7ft tanks in my fish house, its also easyer to set up.
Are you drilling the tank your self ???

Hi Have you drilled your tank yet,
I have both top drilled on most of my sistems and just have a pipe on the inside down to the bottom as this keeps the bottom of the tank clear, but are 10ft...

Hi its probably to late but all my discus are germany (stenkers) and i found out that to divide there tanks up they use black carbon foam(2 inches thick) as dividers, fish can not see each other...

My pairing tanks are all on bubble filters, but i am currently making a new wall of tanks and may use an external of sump. I could defernatly put uv in then.
Can get one from work but never used...

Got fry onto brine shimp and removed from parents. treated adults and the fry with a smaller dose. some of the fry seem to be reacting better than have been. keep trying......
