Hey there!
First of all it's a bit of a sorry tale you're telling, but most of us (if we are honest) have been there ourselsves at one stage or another.
How have things been going over the last...

I've believe they are Bronze and Sterbai Corys, 3 of each

Thanks guys! It's certainly been fun after quite a few years being out of the game.
I've never had any issues with Kuhli Loaches bothering any other fish let alone Discus. I think they are great...

Well guys and gals, my beloved 6x2x2 tank and I have moved a few times from place to place here in Perth over the last 5-6 years and although the poor tank spent a lot of time in a period of...

The most effective white spot medications usually contain a mixture of Formalin and Methylene Blue. Apparently they work more effetively when combined than on their own.
I had case of white-spot...

I've never lost a tetra to a Discus myself, but I'm not saying it doesn't ever happen at all.
Make sure your filtration is spot on - overkill in this department would be just about right.
Good...

Give the FX5 a miss and get an Eheim 2217 Classic (or two). That way you won't be dissapointed.
Cheers!

Water quality issues? What are your tank's readings and has anything changed recently?
Don't assume just because one fish is showing symptoms that the others are 100% ok. Usually the weakest fish...

The answers are simple:
1. Sell the two bullied fish and just stick with the (mating) pair.
-or-
2. Get a bigger tank - the pair will tolerate the other fish when they are far enough away,...

I once had a pair of BN's in my 6x2x2 Discus community tank and they spawned which lead to that tank having about 50 BN's over the period of about 1 year. The young BN's grew very fast and although...

True SAE's will not suck on Discus slime nor bother them at all.

I don't believe its spam, and why does the member/store owner need to live in Australia? I read it that the store is focused on providing for the sale and services of Discus fish and fresh water...

I've had no problems with them either. I suggest you keep trying to get in touch with them and try to sort it out.

I run an APC Backups PRO 650Va UPS device, which supplies power to my three canister filters (1x Eheim 2250 Classic & 2x Eheim 2228 Professional) during a power failure. The single UPS runs them all...

Ok LD, I am here to help! What is the latest update on this issue? Are the fish doing ok?
I think your 72 gal tank is suffering from NTS (New Tank Syndrome). Although you introduced some...

Yes, ammonia is harmful. We all know that. I never said it wasn't.
You obviously failed (in addition to being able to spell) to understand the relationship that pH plays in the toxicity of...

Unless you plan on breeding, theres no real problem in running a Discus tank with a pH of 7.2 to 7.4, in fact having your substrate buffer the pH to this range is probably a good thing as it will...

Generally thats good advice, however there is one exception - if someone has a tank with a stable pH below 7 (acidic) and they get an ammonia spike due to a failed filter or accidental over feeding...

The more modern Eheim (professional series and newer) filters are very easy to maintain, its only the Classic series (which in my opinion are the best) which can be a little tricky but nothing too...

I'm sorry to tell you, but the Aqua One Aquis 2400 series filters are poor performers. Even the newer 2450 model with UV Clarifier isn't really any good. What are they bad? Because there is a...

Discus have no problems at all living in high pH water - mine live permanently in pH of almost 8.0 Of course, breeding them in high pH (high hardness) water is another matter.
As I said, Discus...

From what you describe it sounds like your tank is over crowded and under filtered. This combination will always end in tears for the Discus enthusiast. Can you describe your complete set up to us?

White Spot (Ich) is both easy to identify and treat.
But as stated you really have to stop screwing around with all the pH, temperature and medication changes you are making.

I would connect them in parallel, so that a single intake and outlet tube can run both filters, perhaps using T tubes. You would probably need to use larger intake and output tubes to accomplish this...
