I have 3 girls and 3 boys
So speaking from very little experience they are all so beautiful.
I found girls easier as toddlers as they are less active, but boys are far easier as teenagers.

I am not sure how pool filter sand would differ from country to country but I haven't had any problems at all with it in my discus tank. I just made sure that it was thoroughly cleaned before adding...

My daughter had 2 x Electric Yellow Cichlids with 12 x guppies and 1 x mystery snail

I use discus buffer in every water change. My water used to be very stable & come out of the tap at 6.6 - 6.8 but now it has been coming out at 7.8 - 8.0.
