Hi Finito,
I believe I purchased my first discus from you many years back...Clayton South if memory serves correct!
I've not had discus for 3, maybe 4 years and only just dropped in today for...

Very sorry to hear of Merrilyn's passing. Clearly the afterlife was in more need of her knowledge then us.
I will never forget my wifes horror as I minced up the prawns and salmon for...

Not that I would in any way suggest this as 'the go to' light, I am using one of the LEDZeal Malibu S400 units on a 5'x20"x2' tank (20" high rather than 2'). I previously was using T5's but when...

I'd be confident its not Cyano. Whenever I have seen it in tanks and photos of tanks it is definitely green slimy snot and most often on the substrate.

Great to see you back Kath! I wondered how your travels were going. I've also shared the advice you gave me with some others on other sites, as well as jimstreet who is on here also.
Cheers,...

Could be a number of things from organic compounds to silt. Suggest you pop some purigen or macropore in one of your filters. Generally over a few days they'll have your water so clear you'll...

Just remember the eheims are measuring the temperature in the canister. You will get some heat loss from the hose(s) travelling to the tank, as well as losses from the tank itself. A 1.5deg loss...

Looks good Jason. Must admit I don't venture past all that often these days, but that's more to do with having no discus than the site. Maybe one day when I have the time....

My wife talked me into it! I was always of the opinion they were way above my fish keeping skills - and they were for a while - but we got there in the end. Prior to buying my first discus I...

I'd say his stock is not as god as it used to be. Price is an interesting point. I've been to many aquariums with discus of similar/lesser quality but twice the price. But the high end aquariums...

Seriously, the 4x2x2 will work out cheaper in the long run. Why?
Its what you want, so wait a little longer and get it. Cheaper than buying a smaller tank now and upgrading later;
It carries...

Debbie,
If you've been running 150w metal halides you'll be needing a top end T5HO unit to come close, for which you will be up for well over $300 to cover a six footer e.g. something like an...

Hi ellwa,
There certainly is some nice gear around, with ADA one of the best. My Angel tank is running ADA substrate with which I am very happy.
Cheers,
