We just got a box over to Perth and the fish were of excellent quality, and all shipping details were taken care of by Marlon even down to arranging the AQIS inspection. I had a few doubts about...

Any chance you can get bulk praziquantel for the koi enthusiasts? If you can get such a product cleared for import you'll have a good market from all those currently using permanganate instead of...

Looks great Ben. Do you know of any plans to make canisters with a backwash function, like those common for pond canisters?
A friend has one for their pond and it works a treat. Just a bit too big...

That woudl be great if you could find a cheaper alternative to metro! Good of you to dig into these sorts of things rather than go with the status quo.
Just a correction to my original post, for...

I seriously doubt that any of the "azole" family of medications would have any significant activity against hexamita. If I remember correctly it is also fairly ineffective against white spot, velvet...

So whats the go with metronidazole (Flagyl) dose rates these days? I have been out of it for a while and remember there was some debate around the correct regimen?

Prazi is the drug of choice for flukes. It is specific to flukes and thus has not antibacterial activity that may affect your filtration.
It is also difficult to overdose and has very few side...

I've asked around about this before and the Asian breeders have little interest in expensive exotic angels. The ones you see are typically the result of some fantastic breeding by American breeders,...

Wouldn't mind having a read of the rotifer method, why not post it up here on the site? ;)
I have tried the egg yolk method and it does work, but of course like most other artificial raising...

Thanks guys I think I understand now about the brace and the structural issue you are mentioning. I believe that though it is out of the warranty period you may have scope through the Fair Trading...

When you refer to tanks with flat face not experiencing this problem, do these include the ones that have essentially a flat front but curved corners?

That's concerning, lots and lots of these tanks have been sold... Do you think that it is these particular models that are faulty or all the "Chinese" sourced curved glass type tanks?
I ask...

ASA: As far as medications go I would probably add a bulk praziquantel based product given the amount of use it gets here on df.com. Apologies if one of the aforementioned meds is prazi based already...

Nice looking fish, are you breeding them? Yours look more like L066 than L333, having said that I'm no L-number expert either ;)
Any pics of the parents?

What type of rotifers were you using? Did you culture them yourself? They look like they are doing great!

Angelfish afficionados are amongst the luckiest because of the extensively mapped genetics study done by Dr. Norton decades ago. Her research is still relevant now and accurately predicts what fry...

Try 1 gram per liter adding it in slowly over a 24-48 hour period.
Remember to keep the water temp high as well, around 30-32 degrees celcius with heaps of aeration.

That is a fantastic idea to use those pressure bottles. The mix you suggest seems to have very little water... wouldn't 3 cups of water not dissolve 3 cups of sugar? Perhaps you mean 3 litres of...

Hi,
You mention a 3 foot wide tank. I am thinking of getting one also, could you post the dimensions and glass thickness, numbers of straps, stand details etc if you don't mind?

Blue ram fry in my experience do MUCH better with dedicated feedings of green water or infusoria sized food. They even refused to take on microworms and slowly fade away as you described.

Hey Kev,
