open up your canister filter when the power is off so the bacteria on the media doesnt die

blood worms actually contain high protein they are a little hard to digest for younger discus but older discus digest fine

it helps if you test your water most people age min 24hrs but my water is stable after about 10hrs so if you can test it helps you to know how long

the wigglers usually get eaten in the community tank not sure iwould bother moving the babies just remember once they start breeding they usally keep it up for awhile so move the pair to there own...

let them lay on the bottom we use cones because most discus want to lay on something upright but if they are laying and fertilising the eggs properly leave them be

here in the us most of the breeders around keep thier discus in water that is pretty hard and has a high ph.my water ph is 8.1 and they are fine i have a pair that even lays eggs every five days of...

there is no reason to keep to larger discus in with the younger ones if anything the bigger discus will harras the smaller ones and stress them out

my discus like pellets that sink a little better but will take flakes also so they'llpretty much get used to anything

using a long hose that can reach the sink or window is really the best way imo but you can use a pump hooked to it if your worried about wasting water you just waste electricity instead

first three months an inch a month after that they slow down fish keep growing their whole life but for discus the growth after a year or two depends on the breed isn't very noticable.5 to 6 inches...

get some prime or something similar and you should be fine it sounds like you have ammonia and chlorine im sure if your not on a well like was said in a 2 year old planted tank you should not show...

i dont think the filter not being plugged in for a few hours would kill them that quick especially right after a water change.did you forget something else like to add dechlor?

i would suggest a few more tetras in the large tank small tetras like rummys or whatever will school very tight in a large tank and 50 to 60 will look like a lot less than you think,also a nice large...

if your keeping discus in soft water with a low ph that can lead to damage to the snails shell.i keep my discus in hard water with high ph so it depends on your water.

really unless they're a breeding pair discus should be kept in groups 4 min. 5 better but your tank is really to small for more than the two when full grown.also raise the temp needs to be 82 min....

discus get used to about anything as far as movement around the tank.some people like to baby them but imo the more movement around them the more they get used to it and they dont hide and get...

peppering is genetic but it will usually show less when the fish are in a bright light colored tank.the peppering also can be worse when the fish are stressed,and water quality can be a reason fish...
