After much hunting surfing this weekend, I decided to take my
soon to be Discus tank down the "open top biotope" path.
What I'm trying to find are some plants, native to Discus, that
will grow...

Found some info while researching this.
1mm or 20grit pool sand seems to be the stuff to use.

ADG is local company here in Houston.
Their showroom/office is open to the public full of about
a dozen 200+ gallan aquariums terrariums and paludriums.
