I run CO2 and UV on the outlet of the canister filter. Some canisters also have an inbuilt heater as well. I would opt for the under gravel heater if going for a planted tank

I dose my liquid ferts every 4 hours with an automatic pump. I think the more frequent the dosage the more constant you can get your perameters.

What chemicals are in your PMDD? Is it per the colin and searls web paper?
