I had 2 discus that seemed to be gaurding some eggs together. So would they be male and female or could they be 2 females?

Also do they mate for life?

I've decided to run the pipes from the top of the tank instead of drilling. That way there is more flexibility if I want to move the tank around.

I've also never seen melons with black fins. I always thought they were white.

I think that's my main concern with using the T. The outflow where they join up is the big ? in terms of backwash and the filters fighting each other.

I have heard that low pH levels like 5 will kill of your nitrifying bacteria, so the ammonia won't be broken down in your filter.
